With the S-12's shrapnel, that means all the little bullet fragments explode, effectively turning anything in front of your operative into a cloud of bloody flesh. The added benefit is that your bullets all explode during Overkill mode. Since Overkill mode gives you infinite grenades, ammunition and life, you can hold the trigger down on the S-12 in Overkill or Double Overkill mode and quickly turn everything into chum. So, the reason for the S-12 is for use in Overkill mode. On the bright side, it does have the under mounting for a grenade launcher, which gives you an extra 6 to 7 grenades for shelling enemies. Even with the Dragon's Breath magazine modification, the S-12 fires too quickly and has too little ammunition to be truly threatening. The S-12 (probably modeled after the Russian Saiga) is a fairly decent close-quarters "man-stopper" against all enemies except Brutes. Pair the weapon with the holographic sight or ACOG (scope vision) and you have a great "plinking" tool. With 20 explosive rounds per magazine, you should have plenty of firepower at your disposal (keep in mind you can carry 600 rounds in reserve for an assault rifle in Ao2:TDC). Additionally, the weapon is the only weapon (apart from the sniper rifles) to have access to explosive rounds.Įxplosive rounds will knock over enemies when they are first hit (you need to wait for them to get back upright before you can knock them down again), regardless of who they are - this includes the tough "Brutes" who can be rendered temporarily helpless when knocked down. However, the stats don't lie, and it does great damage, and has excellent range and accuracy. The M1 rifle, patterned after the real M1 Garand, has a 20 round magazine and fires in semi-automatic mode. Our guides team found two great weapons that pretty much let you take out most of the enemies with ease, the M1 assault rifle (unlocked at level 12) and the S-12 shotgun (unlocked at level 14). TWO GREAT WEAPONS THAT GO GREAT TWO-GETHER Three enemies killed in one combat action.įour enemies killed in one combat action. Unaware enemy killed when distracted by partner. Melee kill of an unaware enemy (from behind).Įnemy killed by you after partner injures target.Įnemy in melee-lock with partner killed by you. Some bonuses (like Flank and Backstab) stack, so the more conditions you put into play in your favor, the bigger the cash-out.ĭefault kill of an enemy using a firearm.Įnemy killed by environmental hazard. The point bonus for tag-teaming an enemy (50) is worth far more than a headshot or melee kill (20). With two human players, always try to fire on the same target(s), even if that means wasting a round or two (or missing a headshot). Hence, the more points you earn per battle, the more money and levels you will unlock/earn.

In this game, points are traded on a 1-to-1 to your TWO profile's EXP (for earning new ranks to unlock weapons, parts, masks and outfits) and money (used to purchase new parts for your weapons). Look out for a review closer to the game’s March 2013 release date.Remember, that the higher your score (from the base 10 point Kill), the more money and experience you earn when a chapter is completed.
ARMY OF TWO THE DEVILS CARTEL MOVIE
It feels good to play, the visuals are strong and the Frostbite 2 engine is superb, and the idea of a few hours of mindless buddy movie fun are undeniably appealing.

While Army of Two: The Devil’s Cartel doesn’t change the whole formula entirely, this 15-minute demo did enough to convince us that the game is developing in the right way. It also split the players up for a short time, with each going on a separate path before teaming up again. The level we played also featured slo-mo door breaching as seen in the Modern Warfare games (and more recently Medal of Honor: Warfighter), with both players busting through together and taking out the inhabitants in a hail of shotgun blasts that tore off limbs in distinctly OTT fashion.

“Soft” cover like wooden crates can be splintered to nothing in seconds, but even harder cover like masonry can be trashed in Overkill mode, and breaks down in a suitably convincing fashion. Yep: The Devil’s Cartel, like Battlefield 3 and Medal of Honor: Warfighter, is built on DICE’s Frostbite 2 engine and that means that pretty much everything is destructible.
